Lord ,,, please don’t let the worlds’ truth,,, (Deception) ,,, blind me to the Real Truth of your WORD !!!

How much control do we have with or about our life- What can we actually accomplish in the time we have- Well,,,, we can do anything we set our minds too,,,, but we can only do it one day at a time-

I have read somewhere that God gave us life but he gave it to us as packets,,,, each packet is one day- Each morning is a new beginning as we open a new packet that contains all that day has to offer and at the end of the day that packet is gone !!

There is a song that covers all this pretty well- Its called One Day at a Time Sweet Jesus – Here is a part of that song,,,

“One day at a time sweet Jesus, That’s all I’m asking of you, Just give me the strength, To do every day what I have to do, Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus, And tomorrow may never be mine, Lord, help me today, show me the way, One day at a time “

So what can we control,,,, Today !!! That is what we have to work with- We can’t change anything that happened yesterday (as in actual yesterday) and we have no control over tomorrow until it becomes today and today is lost to yesterday !!

We can dream about tomorrow, hope for tomorrow, plan for tomorrow, pray for tomorrow and wish for tomorrow,,,, but we can’t do anything with tomorrow until it becomes today !!

Looking at it like this,,,, it should become a high priority to start what we want to accomplish,,, Today,,, because we don’t know or have any control over tomorrow,,, today !!! As the truth in the song says,,,, “Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never to mine ”

With all that is happening all around the world each day,  it is becoming painfully apparent that we have very little control of today becoming tomorrow !!!

So the long and short of all this ??? Well, I would suggest that we quit being a,,, “put it off” “wait until tomorrow” “there will be time later” person !!!!

If you want to tell someone you love them,,, do it today !!!- If you want to write a book,, start it today !!! If you want to run a race,,, start training today !!! If you need to tell someone you are sorry,,, do it today !!! If you need to play with your kids,,, play with them today !!! If you are desiring to find out about or seek Jesus for forgiveness and salvation,,, do it today !!!

We only have today that is a bit in our control- I would guess that most of the people that passed on today,,, didn’t think they would pass on yesterday,,, and the people that may pass on tomorrow,,, don’t think they will today

Make Everyday Count for What You Want to Be or Do,,, ONE (EACH) DAY AT A TIME !!!

Well, these are hard times,,,, pandemics, loss of work, isolation, health issues,, it is definitely tough right now- Hang in there it will get better !!!!

So do you find yourself alone and by yourself ??? I look at these states of being as two distinctly different issues- From my experience, one is physical in nature and one is mental ??!!

I live in an apartment in a foreign country with not many associates or friends here and don’t have a good mastery of the language- For as long as I have been here I should be fluent in the language,,, but,,, that is a story for a future time,,, but I can give you a clue to why,,, arrogance and laziness !!!

Anyhow back to “Alone” and “By Myself” !!!

I live alone so I have been “By Myself” for most of the last year- So I am “By Myself” but am I “Alone”,,, not at all- “By Myself” in my experience, is a physical state- I am by myself at home or in the woods or in my car most of the time- There are no people close around me !!!

Now “Alone” is a different deal- You can be alone by yourself or in a group of people- Have you ever been with a group of people you didn’t know or relate too very well,,, remember that feeling of aloneness even with a bunch of people around ??? That is a mental state that can haunt you wherever you are and whoever you are with/around !!!

So why am I never feeling “Alone” even when I am “By Myself” ??? It is the infilling of the Holy Spirit that I received when I accepted and asked the Lord Jesus Christ into my life !!! He is always there with me,,, I can talk with him in the middle of the day or middle of the night, in a crowd of people or by myself, driving, setting, flying or working and amazingly he talks back to me,,, not like a conversation we would have but with thoughts, convictions, guidance and the most comforting peace I have ever known !!!

I know it comes from him and works,,, all the time- I have been through Cancer, Below Knee amputation, loss of work, broken hands and fingers and divorce,, in just the last 18 months,,, but through it all, I have had a comforting peace that never leaves me- I am always reassured that,,, it is just the world and you will get through it,,, for sure,,, because he is always there !!!

I can attest, from personal experience, that the things all around me, of the world, tend to start taking a second, lesser important place in my life with his infilling spirit !!!

“Alone”,,, is no longer a dark haunting and empty feeling in my life,,, as long as I stay close to him !!!

In times like these and anytime, for that matter, it is good to have a constant and loving friend walking with you !!! One you can always depend on to be there through thick and thin !!!

Give it a shot,,, It works in all/every situation we may encounter as we go through this life !!!

Accept Jesus into your life and live Free !!!!

 

Hello !!

As I have mentioned earlier, I spent the first 16 years of my life on a small farm- It was a great place to grow-up- Lots of room to run and explore and lots of animals to deal with- The place was pretty much self-sufficient- We grew most of our food, raised animals for food and milk, had our own septic system and water well to boot – About the only thing we received from outside was electricity and my dad had contingencies for that as well !!

Anyhow back to the water well and pump- The well was just outside the kitchen window with a pump to draw up the water- My dad had built a small insulated house around the wellhead and pump to keep it warm and out of the weather- We had four seasons with winter being the most intense/longest I think !!! It would get down into the -20’s to -30’s a lot of the time in the winter so dad had to keep the pumps and plumbing warm that was outside,, all in this little pump house !!!

I remember this pump house vividly – In this small house was a single light bulb,,, nothing fancy hanging from the ceiling over the pump- If you touched the bulb,, it could burn you but other then that, it seemed that there was not much heat considering the area inside – I asked my dad once how that small light could keep the pump from freezing- His answer surprised me- He said,,, it is not the heat from the bulb but the light from the bulb- I didn’t quite understand that but it seemed to work to keep the water flowing in the winter so why question it ???

I do remember a couple of times during winters that we would wake up to no water !!! Out to the pump house, we would go and sure enough, the bulb was out and it was black and cold inside this small house !!!! Of course, after a freeze up, it took a while to warm everything up and thaw the pipes so we had water again- That little bulb quickly became pretty important to me as I was the one who had to crawl around in that pump house and get the water flowing !!!!

Now let’s look at each of us- You could look at us as a small, self-contained unit moving around- We have everything that we need to survive most situations,,, give us a little water, food, and sleep and we are pretty much ready to go each day- Of all our organs, which one is probably the hardest working and most needed,,,, I would suggest our hearts ,,,, the pump !!!!

Without this pump working correctly,,, things go south pretty quickly !!!

So how is your pump ???

Is it cold and in the dark and even maybe about to freeze up- I am not talking physically,,, I am talking spiritually ??? Maybe you need to turn on the light !!!!

You note, I did not say install a light,,,, I said turn the light you have “ON” !!! I believe and know, from the bible and in my heart, that we all have the light already installed in our pump house,,, it is the word of God that he has placed in all of our hearts at creation- We just need to turn it on to protect us from the cold, dark world-

So how do we do that, you ask ??

Jesus is the switch that turns on the light inside us all- You seek him and acknowledge who and what he is,,, the only son of God and the savior of the world that came and gave his life on the cross to take on all our sins and be raised by God on the third day to take his place at the right hand of God !!!

You switch on Jesus in your life and you will never have to worry about your pump house being in the dark and freezing cold of the world !!!

Remember,,,, It is not the heat,,,, it is the light (Jesus) that saves !!!
