Never Say Never

Here we go,,, we have all had a time when we said, either out loud or to ourselves,,, I will “Never Do That Again” – In some cases that can be a good thing,, in other cases it may close doors and limit new horizons !!!

Case in point, from my own experience with Never Do That Again !!!

I had a maintenance company in Anchorage Alaska for a number of years- I would take on just about any type of maintenance work- Having grown up on a farm,, I had hands on experience with a lot of things but not much about anything- I was kind of a “Jack of All Trades and Master of None” so they say !! I was doing okay in my business but then some painting started to enter the picture- I could do it but I hated it,,, I mean I really hated painting apartments, building, condo’s,,, anything to do with painting – I finally reached the “I will Never Ever Paint Again” point – Well that went okay for awhile but then it begin to become painfully apparent (Loss of Income Apparent) that if I wanted the other work,,, I needed to paint as well !!!

So back into providing painting services I went – And guess what ,,,, that painting service turned out to open doors to many other opportunities, even outside of maintenance, that I would have never been introduced to without it !!!

That Life Experience I still carry with me !!

So you see,,, when you start to say or think,,, You will never do something,, something non-harmful to yourself or others,, what you are telling your minds eye/conscience over time is ,,, don’t even look in that direction !!! As soon as you do that you begin closing doors to opportunities for yourself that you may not even have imagined !!! Great and New Opportunities !!!

But you have to keep fighting that Never Attitude- Even after all my experiences with it,,, I was setting looking out the window this morning and saw a man jogging by- As you know I have had a below knee amputation of my right leg,, so there I am watching this jogger cruise by,,, and what came into my mind ??? I will never be able to jog again !!!! There I go,,, that NEVER word- Well when I came back to reality (not feeling sorry for myself) I thought about that thought ,,,, There are thousands of people in the world that have amputations and worse and are still jogging and playing sports and doing most everything people without a hindrance (the state of being interfered with, held back, or slowed down) are doing- So there I go- I was going to close doors before I even gave them a chance to open !!! What a loss that can be for us,,, Never allowing the doors to even crack open a bit so we can peep inside !!!

NEVER SAY NEVER !!!!!!!

God Bless !!!!

Fear

Fear, we all have fears of something- It can be a good learning fear or a debilitating (to make weak or feeble, impair the strength of) fear- Fear can be the beginning of knowledge as Proverbs states – Proverb 1:7 – The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of knowledge;

Fear,,,, The Beginning of Knowledge,,, Hummmmm,,,

Well lets look at this a different way ,,, for instance – The fear of gravity is the beginning of knowledge ??? Look at children how they love to climb and jump off of things, couches, chairs, steps, trees,,, whatever, they love it- So what are they doing,,, they are learning about gravity long before they know what it is- As they climb higher and get a little braver they eventually reach a point where they hurt themselves,, usually not very badly, at first, but they learn the fear of and respect for gravity at that point- It is a good fear/respect because it tends to keep them from going any higher where they could really hurt themselves- This fear/respect of gravity and consequences will remain with them for the rest of their lives !!

Okay you say,,, but how is the fear of the Lord the beginning of knowledge ???

Well lets go back to the gravity effect- Lets say we are born on top of a 100 story building- At the exact moment of birth we are thrown off of this 100 story building (into the world, so to speak) and we start falling toward the bottom of the building (End of Life) Each floor is a year of our life as we pass by and we age up as we fall down- Now we all begin to realize as we fall, (age up) that we will eventually hit the bottom of the building (end of life)- As that ole saying goes,,, it is not a matter of “if” but a matter of “when” – So as we are falling through life we begin to look for ways or any way to avoid what we start to realize is coming,,,, the end of our life as we have come to know it- The longer we fall the closer the end or bottom is getting and the more important it becomes to deal with or find a solution to what cannot be changed,,, our end of this life !!!

So now, back to fear- If we fear something we tend to study or learn about that fear so we can take action to hopefully eliminate the fear or lessen the consequences of it – Take driving a car as an example,,, we don’t want to be in a wreck because of the consequences it may bring on us, financially or physically, so we study and learn to drive safely to lessen the fear of driving consequences- Or staying healthy,,, none of us want to be sick, so we study and/or listen to people who have knowledge of health and nutrition to help eliminate the fear of sickness or injury !! It is the same line of thinking when Proverbs states that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,,,this knowledge has to do with our well being or un-well being in eternity- Where will we spend it ???

Now back to our life falling from the 100 story building- As the Bible states and as God has put in our hearts his word and knowledge for us to access and study,,, there are two after life choices,,, Heaven or Hell – This worldly life is temporary and will come to an end when we arrive at the bottom of our life building !!! So we have a choice to make before we hit bottom,,,

1st way,,,,,the way of Jesus, believing and asking forgiveness and admitting we are sinners and accepting his forgiveness through his grace !!!

Or ,,, 2nd way,,, not accepting his way or refusing to make a decision before we hit bottom-

Now we are at the bottom of the life building and what happens ???

Well,, if we chose the 1st way before we hit, there will appear at the bottom a huge, all inclusive, safety net, like the fireman use to save falling victims from certain death, and it will immediately spring us into Gods Sanctuary (Heaven, Paradise) for eternity !!!

If we chose the 2nd way,,, no net will appear and we will crash to death and eternal separation from God and Jesus for eternity (Darkness and Torment) !!!

I would pray that you chose wisely as eternity is a long time and we are all falling closer and closer toward the bottom floor of life’s building each day !!! May God Bless Your Days !!!
